Casino workers to strike in wages dispute on Friday, and are faci제주안마ng retaliation from law enforcement who have ordered the arrests of several workers in the course of the strike. The New York Times reports:
About 75 of the workers at the Casino’s North Avenue and Rive이천안마rfront location did not show up to work on Thursday morning to take part in a three-day strike over wages. Many workers did not see the judge for their arraignment on Thursday. One of the union members, who gave his name as Carlos S. Garcia, said, “It’s all about money right now. My wife has been taking care of me all my life. We don’t have enough money for medical care.”
The strike will affect more than 50,000 jobs across the gamblers’ industry in New York and Philadelphia, although no one is estimating how many workers could be affected. More than 1,000 casino-hosted hotels, restaurants and other establishments in five states have already announced they are taking part. It’s possible that other cities and states might follow suit. New York City has reportedly imposed a 25 percent wage increase to bring in more money and hire more workers.
